Who is Direct Distribution?
In running our family owned warehouse and distribution company VJC Logistics we found that this instant portable garage product was a great new product idea that had little/no market maturity.
We soon began to look for the right product to bring to market. We looked at easy to sell "boxed garages" with powder coated pipes, bungee cord tie downs and 60" frame centers. Our thought originally was that we could sell a ton of these at a low price! Good idea? Read on....
"Boxed Garages" are cheap because they are cheap. I wouldn't buy one, nor would I sell them. They are simply junk... The one's you can buy at a big box store... 4.5 ounce fabric, thin painted metal tubes, snap in pins and bungee cords... not what I would want to put my '68 Mustang in.
Long story short... we only sell quality instant portable garages, shelters, sheds and metal carports. That's it. If you think that the $200 unit at Costco or some place like that is a good deal, you should buy it. Next year, when it blows down... call me. By the way... we are always looking for additional products that 'fit' our direct to customer model. They must be too heavy to lug home from a store, have some DIY feeling and have strong growth potential.
